The Cottage Company - Devon

After years in their industry, a husband and wife from Exeter decided to go it alone and set up The Cottage Company - Devon, specialising in rental for some of the most luxurious holday cottages in Devon.

This is obviosuly a very competitive market as holiday rentals in Devon are always in high demand, so Wiseguy sat down with the Cottage Company and together we came up with a brand and way of reaching the exact target audience as efficiently as possible. We wanted to make sure that the quality of the homes and the service provided was conveyed through all areas of the new branding and the ease of use on the website.

One of the most important considerations was the ability to integrate their new booking system within the website, which meant making sure the style could be replicated using the 3rd party software. The site needed to be fresh, clean and most of all easy to find information fast. It also had to include a full content management system for The Cottage Company to maintain the site easily.

With such beautiful properties as well as the wonderful scenery of Devon, it was decided to use a large visual entry to each page as well as individual property images, a viusal key to property facilities, Google maps etc. It was also important to consider the fact that Devon is a great destination all year round andwe wanted to add information about the local area, upcoming events, sports information etc, so that users can actually use the site as a reference point once they are in Devon.

We also introduced as many features as we could to allow people to share information from the site so we have developed a Facebook page, a LinkedIn profile as well as RSS feeds from news articles. As the site grows and the property portfolio increases we will slowly introduce new marketing measures.
