Galeco Communications Ltd is one of Britain's largest security solutions specialists providing support to an army of clients and using some of the latest technologies.
We were approached by Galeco to try and create a website with massive impact that would promote the fact that they are staying on top of latest technologies and to give a feel of the type of work that they undertake. With them being specialists in CCTV, remote monitoring facilities, top security solutions, biometrics... in fact you name it and they are on it, between us we came up with the concept of the new site to be fully interactive and to work along the lines of futuristic films such as Minority Report and Bladerunner.
Well obviously jumping at such a juicy brief, we kept working on concepts until we landed on the idea of developing a 3D world with it's own Security Centre. The world acts as the navigational hub of the site and allows you to view the scene as a whole. Then form here you can enter the individual areas that are designed to complement the service that are being offered by Galeco.
The whole site has been created as a kind of homage to futuristic film / game genres and tries to capture some of the suspense of a top security portal. This affected everything from the colour hues, camera angles, interface, music and sound effects.
On a technical level it's great to use some of the more advanced features of Flash Player 9 and above to manipulate video, sound and animation and although the site uses plenty of rich coolour and audio, the files are kept pretty light. All of the 3D modelling and rendering was done in house and our poor old machines worked pretty hard to get the renders completed on time!
