A client with a great range of designer ties, allowing a free reign on the design, an understanding of the importance of high quality imagery and a great attitude, made designing and developing this online shop a real joy.
The FunkyTie team are a husband and wife partnership based in Rotterdam, Holland. A few years ago they developed a fantastic portfolio of designer ties aimed at city business people, with manufacturing in Germany and European distribution they wanted to sell to the masses using the Internet.
From the outset, FunkyTie knew where they were headed and which markets they were aiming for, which was an enormous help. We worked closely together to develop the brand identity, everything from the logo to the website, emails, adverts etc. and pitched for the lifestyle and professional markets which has proven to be a great success.
The design was backed up with the support of beautiful product photography with three different layouts for each tie, allowing users to really get an idea of the texture, colours etc. This was also backed up with a selection of shots from a dedicated photo shoot taken by Nigel Riches.
It was always a key part of the FunkyTie.com business model to give a percentage of their profits to charity. Within the first year FunkyTie had developed the official tie for Red Nose Day 2007!
