Galeco website picks up some awards

We've only gone and picked up a Design Licks Site Of The Day award.

Well, after only a few weeks of being live the Galeco Communications website has started to pick up a few design accolades. As this list grows, we'll simply update this news story...

3D render for Galeco communications

The Design Licks website is a showcase and portal for some of the best web design work from around the world and is a great site for inspiration. Only one website is chosen per day out of hundreds of submissions and we are proud to have won an award for the Galeco Communications website. Take a look at http://www.designlicks.com/awarded_site.php?site_id=1542.

Versions App (SVN client) is out of beta

I just want to say a massive congratulations to the teams at Pico and Sofa for developing such a fantastic product for Mac OS X.

The process of using SVN for version control of projects used to be pretty ugly, yet oh so useful. But thanks to the great application design skills of Pico and Sofa, we now have a user-friendly interface on a great SVN client - Versions. They have seriously looked at how users want to use SVN software and the workflow has been simplified as a result which is what true software development embraces. Sorry Windows users, this application is only for Mac OS X.

Versions App and Beanstalk SVN logos

Without trying it out you won't know what you are missing out on, so why not use another great application (this time web-based) Beanstalk and set yourself up with a free online SVN repository? Then get over to the Version website and download the trial version.

Wiseguy Digital is not in any way associated with the products, but sometimes you just have to take your hat off to those that have helped to make your life easier!

Disclaimer:

The Versions logo rights belong to a collaboration between Pico and Sofa. The Beanstalk logo and name are trademarks of Wildbit, LLC.

Wiseguy launches Galeco.com

After one and a half months of intensive design design, experimentation and development we launched the new website for Galeco Communications Ltd. of Reading.

This site (http://www.galeco.com) has been great fun to produce and has pulled in some of our favourite areas of work. We got to play with Adobe Flash and some of the great features of the newer Flash Players, 3D modelling and landscape editing, video, audio, music, interactivity - in fact everything that we love about web experiences.

Take a look at some of the renders from our virtual world below (a bit different from the earlier examples we posted!):

Wedding bells were a'ringin'!

Jim and Rose have tied the knot at long last.

Well it's been a long time coming, but myself and Rose are now officially man and wife and that's why Wiseguy has been a little quiet over September!! After a fantastic weddding in a beautiful barn near Tetbury (http://www.kingscotebarn.co.uk/) we were lucky enough to enjoy an amazing honeymoon in Thailand. So if you were wondering where we were, that's where!

As a typical web designer, I also made a microsite for the wedding to let everyone know where to stay etc:

Oh and alright, here's a piccy of the day taken by a really good friend of mine Steve Wheadon:

Soul Solutions website goes live

Soul Solutions - Creative Health and Safety consultancy website goes live.

This brand new consultancy came to Wiseguy to get an exciting new image for their company that would allow them to stand out from the crowd and impose their creative roots on potential clients. Here is the Wiseguy design:

Design for Soul Solutions

The new website was launched this morning and will be growing pretty fast judging by the volume of work being offered to Soul Solutions. Luckily, they can keep their site up to date with the content management system and let their clients know what they are up to. We wish them every success!!
